Join CMYSA’s Director of Coaching, Becky McCabe, on April 4th and 11th from 5:30-7:30pm. Becky will walk you through the setup, transition, and the technical/tactical coaching points of four different practice topics. Location and topics will be determined soon!
The coaches corner is a place to enhance your sports education. The goal of this area is to assist you in developing better players and better people for future success at whatever level you might be at. Our goal is for you to learn one new thing each time you visit this section. If you have any questions, suggested topics, or articles to contribute to this area please contact us.

Recently there have been a couple of forays into the mystery of skill development by renowned authors Malcolm Gladwell, with his bestseller Outliers and Geoff Colvin’s Talent is Overrated. While both of these authors provide many useful insights for the soccer coach, Daniel Coyle’s The Talent Code devotes even more space to scientific and anecdotal research that is invaluable to a coach who values player development.
Procedure for when there is not a referee available:
CMYSA Coaches and officials are now required by law to take the free CDC online training course Concussion Training for Coaches.
