Individual Training Opportunities

U9 to U12 Winter Break Camp

This camp will be hosted at St. Cloud State University dome from 9:00 to 10:30 a.m. starting on December 28th to December 31st. The camp will focus on 1, 2 and 3 player attacking and defending. Players who would like to focus on goalkeeping skills will train with Alex Piekarski (St. Cloud State University goalkeeper coach and CMYSA rec director of coaching). Field player training will be ran by Emily Willaert (CMYSA director of coaching) and Becky McCabe (previous CMYSA director of coaching and St. Cloud State University women's coach). Cost for the camp is $90.

 

U13 to U17 Winter Break Camp

This camp will focus on attacking in the final third and goalkeeper technique to those interested in focusing on goalkeeper training. Open to ages 13 to 17 from 10:30 a.m. to 12 p.m. from Dec. 28th to the 31st at SCSU dome.

U9 to U15 Winter Training Series

Tuesday nights from 6 to 7 p.m. starting January 5th to Feb. 23rd at SCSU dome. These sessions with U9 to U12 will be ran by CMYSA director of coaching Emily Willaert and assistant staff. The sessions with the U13 to U15 will be conducted by John Haws (St. John's University head men's soccer coach) and Steve Kimble (College of Saint Benedict head women's soccer coach). Cost of the camp is $110

2015 Tryout Prep Camp

Give yourself the competitive edge in preparing for club and high school tryouts and attend this demanding skills camp. Hone your technical skills and polish up your small-group tactics at this 4 day camp run by CMYSA DOC Becky McCabe along with college soccer coaches and players.

Each day will start off with moves and footwork to warm up and sharpen dribbling skills.  Players will then be pushed to excel  technically in pressure-training drills designed to maximize touches and increase skill level in passing/receiving, long balls, and finishing.  Each day will end with small-sided tactical games that will enhance players’ ability to “think” the game.

CMYSA Elite Training Program

Field Player Training (U12-U17)

All sessions are at Whitney Park Field #11

CMYSA is offering a seven (7) week Elite Travel Training Program. Players must be on a CMYSA Travel Team in order to participate.*  Cost is $70 for the season.

Summer 2015 Sessions will be held on the following Sundays 6-7pm:                                                    

May 10, 17, 31

June 7, 14, 21, 28

(No sessions May 24-Memorial Day Weekend)

This program provides additional player development opportunities for any CMYSA travel teams and individuals. Players outside CMYSA Travel may particiapte with DOC approval.

Each evening will be devoted to a different soccer-specific theme or skill, including but not limited to, principles of 1 v 1 defending, bending balls (banana kicks, etc), creating space in the final third, finishing (volleys), shielding, heading (offensive and defensive), chipping and finishing. 

Work in agility, fitness, and core strength will also be included.

Space is limited so sign up fast!  All participants must bring ball, plenty of fluids and be dressed in appropriate soccer attire, including cleats and shin guards.

 

Travel Goalkeeper Training (U12-U17)

All sessions are at Whitney Park Field #11

Led by SCSU Goalkeeper Coach, Alex Piekarski, the curriculum for the goalkeeper training program includes low and medium diving, basic shot handling, angle play, dealing with crosses, breakaway techniques and tactics, foot skills, deflecting, boxing and distribution while focusing on building proper technique during goal scoring opportunities.

 

*Exceptions may be made for players who do not have a CMYSA team at their age level with the approval of the DOC.

First Annual Battle of the Birds

 November 27th

Located at South Junior High

St. Cloud, MN

from 9 a.m. to 12 p.m.

How it works: Create a team of 4 to 6 soccer players (doesn’t matter if they play for CMYSA or not). The cost is $10 per player. Age groups are U8 to U11, U12 to U14 and U15 on. Register under the registration tab (under "HOME" on the toolbar)
