Second Annual Battle of the Birds

 November 25th

Located at South Junior High

St. Cloud, MN

from 9 a.m. to 12 p.m.

*Registration opens in October.

How it works: Create a team of 4 to 6 soccer players (doesn’t matter if they play for CMYSA or not). The cost is $10 per player. Age groups are U8 to U11, U12 to U14 and U15 on. Register under the registration tab (under "HOME" on the toolbar)


CMYSA Club Grand

Off Season Challenge

Club Grand is an off-season training program for all CMYSA players. It provides several drills and opportunities to improve your soccer skills with limited space and teammates. From November 15th to March 15th rack up at least 1,000 points and you will be a member of Club Grand. It will take hard work and dedication, but the result will be worth it. You will receive a CMYSA Club Grand shirt, be a better soccer player going into your next season, and have practiced dedicating yourself to completing a goal (something you can continue to do the rest of your life).

U9 to U12 Winter Break Camp

* Registration opens in November.

This camp will be hosted at St. Cloud State University dome from 9:00 to 10:30 a.m. starting on December 28th to December 31st. The camp will focus on 1, 2 and 3 player attacking and defending. Players who would like to focus on goalkeeping skills will train with Alex Piekarski (St. Cloud State University goalkeeper coach and CMYSA rec director of coaching). Field player training will be ran by Emily Willaert (CMYSA director of coaching) and Becky McCabe (previous CMYSA director of coaching and St. Cloud State University women's coach). Cost for the camp is $90.

 

U13 to U17 Winter Break Camp

* Registration opens in November.

This camp will focus on attacking in the final third and goalkeeper technique to those interested in focusing on goalkeeper training. Open to ages 13 to 17 from 10:30 a.m. to 12 p.m. from Dec. 28th to the 31st at SCSU dome.

Players who would like to focus on goalkeeping skills will train with Alex Piekarski (St. Cloud State University goalkeeper coach and CMYSA rec director of coaching). Field player training will be ran by Emily Willaert (CMYSA director of coaching) and Becky McCabe (previous CMYSA director of coaching and St. Cloud State University women's coach). Cost of the camp is $90.

 

U9 to U15 Winter Training Series

* Registration opens in November.

Tuesday nights from 6 to 7:15 p.m. starting January 5th to Feb. 23rd at SCSU dome. These sessions with U9 to U12 will be ran by CMYSA director of coaching Emily Willaert and assistant staff. The sessions with the U13 to U15 will be conducted by John Haws (St. John's University head men's soccer coach) and Steve Kimble (College of Saint Benedict head women's soccer coach). Cost of the camp is $95

CMYSA Winter Futsol League

Location:  South Junior High

(4 v 4 with no goalkeepers)

*Registration opens in January

Games are 50 minutes each with a 5 minute half time

We will attempt to split games by gender and age groups based on numbers registered. Teams will be randomly assigned each week. There is no age limit for players and CMYSA affiliation is not necessary.

Dates: Feb. 21st, 28th, March 6th, 13th, 20th, and April 3rd

Cost: $35


CMYSA Spring Training Series 

Advanced Technical Development

(U13-U17)

*Registration opens in March. 

* All practices will be at Whitney Park (either 3A or Field 11)

CMYSA is offering a six week Travel Training Program. Players must be on a CMYSA Travel Team in order to participate. Cost is $60 for the training series. This program provides additional player development opportunities for any CMYSA travel teams and individuals.

Each evening will be devoted to a different soccer-specific theme or skill, including but not limited to, principles of 1 v 1 defending, 1st touch, bending balls (banana kicks, etc), creating space in the final third, finishing (volleys), shielding, chipping and finishing.

All participants must bring a ball, plenty of fluids and be dressed in appropriate soccer attire, including cleats and shin guards.

How it works: CMYSA recognizes that schedules change week to week. To accommodate for this, CMYSA will offer 3 sessions per week. Your player can decide which session works best to attend each week. For example, Week 1 s/he may come Thursday; Week 2 s/he may come Saturday; Week 3 Thursday; Week 4 Friday. You don’t have to commit to a time prior to showing up for a session.

Sessions will be held from 6:00 to 7:15 p.m. on Thursday and Friday evenings and Saturday morning from 9:00 to 10:15 a.m.

Week 1: April 14th to April 16th

Week 2: April 21st to April 23rd

Week 3: April 28th to April 30th

Week 4: May 5th to May 7th

Week 5: May 12th to May 14th

Week 6: May 19th to May 21st

 


Sharpen My Skills Training Programs

(U9-U12 and U13 to U17)  

(replaces prep tryout camp)

U9 to U12 practices will be on Field 5 at Whitney

U13 to U17 practices will be on Field 10 at Whitney

CMYSA is offering a six (6) week Travel Training Program. Players must be on a CMYSA Travel Team in order to participate* Cost is $60 for the season. This program provides additional player development opportunities for any CMYSA travel teams and individuals. The goal of this camp is to maintain/improve skills developed during the season as players prepare for District Tournaments, State and CMYSA Tryouts. This camp will replace the previous “Tryout Prep Camp” due to the dates of tryouts this upcoming July (tryouts are July 24th through July 27th full schedule is online at www.CMYSA.org).  

All participants must bring ball, plenty of fluids and be dressed in appropriate soccer attire, including cleats and shin guards.

Sessions for U13 to U17 will be held from 6:30 to 7:45 p.m. on Thursday and Friday evenings and Saturday morning from 10:00 to 11:15 a.m.

Week 2: June 23rd to June 25th

Week 3: June 30th to July 2nd

Week 4: July 7th to July 9th

Week 5: July 14th to July 16th

Week 6: July 21st to July 23rd

 


Tryout Prep Camp presented by Minnesota United FC 

Minnesota United FC team will be running a CMYSA tryout prep camp starting July 18th to July 22nd. The camp will run from 9:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. at Whitney Park. The camp is for players ages 6 to 16. There will also be a rec option for players not participating in travel tryouts but want additional time with the soccer ball.
