Many of our CMYSA Travel players aspire to raise their games to the next level.
To give these motivated players the opportunity for extra training, CMYSA has joined forces with area college coaches. Under the direction of Becky McCabe (CMYSA DOC & SCSU Head Coach), John Haws (SJU Head Coach), and Steve Kimble (CSB Head Coach), these players will focus on advanced technical and tactical individual skills. By emphasizing technique and applying it to a functional training environment, player development is maximized.
Themes and skills include, but are not limited to, principles of 1 v 1 defending, bending balls, creating space in the final third, advanced finishing (volleys), 1v1 attacking, shielding, heading (offensive and defensive), and chipping.
Work in agility, fitness, and core strength will also be included.
Space is limited to 50 participants and applications will be accepted on a “first come, first served” basis. All participants must bring ball, plenty of fluids and be dressed in appropriate soccer attire, including cleats and shin guards.
CMYSA’s Elite Travel Training Program is an eight (8) week long program consisting of training sessions once/week . Players must be on a CMYSA Travel Team in order to participate. Cost is $75.
