If you have ever considered becoming a referee for CMYSA travel soccer, now is the time to begin your training to be prepared for the upcoming season. There is no minimum age for youth working as travel referees and assistant referees.
As a new referee, you will have certain requirements that you need to complete to be able to take the field for the first time.
Step 1: Register with www.minnesotasrc.com
Step 2: Pay your $20 State Administrative and $40 US Soccer Registration Fees
Step 3: Complete the Online Training (the online portion of the training is 22 video modules that take about 8 hours to complete.)
Step 4: Sign Up and Attend Your 8 hour Classroom Clinic (a clinic is being offered in St. Cloud on April 23, 2017, 7:30am-4:30pm)
Step 5: Pass the USSF Grade 8 Test
Step 6: Complete the MYSA Background Check (for any referee 18 years or older working MYSA games)
Step 7: Once you have completed these steps, purchase a Ref Uniform and contact CMYSA to receive game assignments.
There is a need for more certified soccer referees in our area so we strongly encourage those who are interested in more information to visit the MN State Referee Committee website:

Adult referees (18 years or older) who will be working MYSA sanctioned games or tournaments are required to complete a background check.
Background checks are initiated through the Affinity Sports Registration platform and are processed by the McDowell Agency.
Go to this website to get started: MYSA Background Check
*If you complete a background check as a CMYSA club manager, coach, administrator, etc. you do not need to complete the referee background check. Please send an email to firstname.lastname@example.org with your name and the club you did the background check with.
Below is the link to the W-9 form. All Rec Referees and Trainers need to have one on file with CMYSA.
