Financial Assistance

Central Minnesota Youth Soccer Association is committed to providing a high-quality and affordable youth soccer program. CMYSA Financial Assistance  provides a partial fee reduction for families who otherwise could not afford to play travel soccer.

The Financial Assistance application is part of the "2021 Travel 9U-18U" registration. As of January 2021, the Financial Assistance budget has been spent and no additional funding is available.

As of August 2020, the CMYSA Board revised the Club's FA policies. Please read carefully.

Like many organizations, CMYSA has experienced financial challenges as a result of the COVID-19 pandemic.  As a result, and in anticipation of a higher number of financial aid applicants, we are unable to provide free travel uniforms as we have in the past.

Financial aid recipients will purchase their own uniforms at a cost of $135.  They will also pay $50 toward the 2021 Travel 9U-18U registration fee, with CMYSA covering the remaining portion. Total cost per player is $185.

Financial aid recipients whose teams have additional expenses (typically Premier and First-Division teams) will also pay any additional team expenses (i.e. coach, training, tournaments, travel) up to a maximum of $100. Total cost per player is $285. Any remaining balance will be split 50/50 between CMYSA and the team. 


  • Eligibility for CMYSA Financial Assistance does not guarantee that a travel player will receive assistance. Funds are limited and will be distributed on a first-come, first-served basis.
  • Families must complete the online financial assistance application that is part of the registration and provide supporting documents (via online or mail) for a player to be considered. Incomplete applications will not be considered.
  • At the time of registration, each player is required to pay $50 towards their annual player fee during registration. The $135 uniform will be ordered and paid for in January. 
  • If a family is deemed ineligible to receive Financial Assistance, the player will be notified by the CMYSA FA Committee via email and billed for the remaining amount due). 
  • CMYSA will maintain Financial Assistance data in strict confidence.

Application Deadline
October 22, 2020 

After this date, awards will only be made as long as funds are available.

Financial Assistance Eligibility

A player who receives 2020-2021 Free & Reduced Price School Meals benefits may be eligible to receive CMYSA Financial Assistance. 

If your income has changed because of Covid -19 or any other reason, you may contact the Travel Admin to ask about special circumstance funding.

A player may be eligible to receive CMYSA Financial Assistance if their family earnings are at or below the Adjusted Gross Income listed below (from 2019 1040 Federal Income Tax Return)

  • Copy of official notice of 2020-2021 Free & Reduced Price School Meals benefits

  • First two pages of completed 2019 1040 Federal Income Tax Return


Families will be notified regarding the status of an application within four weeks of a completed registration. The CMYSA Financial Assistance Committee will contact applicants via email.
