Evaluation Factors
Evaluations are a pinpoint in a player’s soccer journey. It does not determine their endpoint.
Build trust between families and the evaluation process
- We want to limit the amount of stress players and parents feel about evaluations. We want you to know what to expect so that you can feel prepared. We understand that with preparation comes a reduction in stress/anxiety, so we home to provide you with the information needed for players to be more practiced and prepared.
Factors in evaluations that you can't control:
- Numbers in an age group
- League qualifications and availability
- New players coming to evaluations that have not been in the club before with various talent level
Factors in evaluations that you can control:
- Coaches’ evaluation from summer 2025 and fall 2025: coaches rank players on attendance, attitude, technical, tactical, physical, and overall impact and can provide comments helpful to placement. This plays a role in placement
- Every coach was provided instructions on how to construct their evaluation. This is a requirement for all coaches.
- All evaluations should include 2 positives/growth points of the season and 2 things for the player to work on between now and evaluations.
- If players have not received their coaches evaluation by August 10th, please email Carrlin at centralmngmo@gmail.com include your player name (first and last), team age group, division and coach.
- Performance in evaluations: just like a job interview, showing up and performing well matters.
Self Reflection:
- Recognize what players are good at and assess where improvements can be made.
- A form has been added to all players in CMYSA. It is based on the skills that will be assessed during evaluations. Players can go through and assess what they think they are doing well and where they could spend a little more time practicing skills, tactics or psychological attributes.
